Run Grand in Riga!
2025 is a very special year for the Rimi Riga marathon – it’s the 35th anniversary! The running celebration, which will take place on May 17-18 in 2025, in the capital of Latvia, will be organized with special grandeur this season! Everyone is welcome to celebrate Riga with 40 000 runners from around the world!
In the scenic World Championship courses that make Riga unique on the global running map, thousands of international marathon tourists and Latvian runners, will have the opportunity to run through the breathtaking city in the spring.
Rimi Riga Marathon offers various race distances to cater to participants with different running abilities and goals. On Saturday, May 17, the Kids’ Day will take place with short distances up to 400 m (free of charge for kids up to 12 years) and the DPD Mile (1609 m) meant for everyone, especially families with kids, while on Sunday, May 18, runners will take on the marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), 10 km and 6 km courses.
To mark the 35th anniversary, Rimi Riga Marathon is introducing two exciting changes!
A new “Jubilee 5K” or rather an almost 6 km (about 5,8 km) course, based on the World Champs 5 km course, will take every runner further on a scenic run near and along the Freedom Monument. An ultimate distance – the marathon (42,195 km) course – is set to be a runner’s dream, featuring a single loop that includes three iconic Riga bridges and takes every runner through the city’s most beautiful spots, including the famous Mežaparks.
