More than ten thousand exercise enthusiasts have already registered for LHV Women’s Run (Maijooks). Big and small, young and old alike will enjoy different activities and entertainment on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds this Saturday.
Following a two-year coronavirus hiatus, registration is in full swing for Estonia's most popular exercise event for women held once again on May 21. More than ten thousand sports enthusiasts have already registered for the various distances of the major event taking place this Saturday.
Until Friday night, registration is open at www.jooks.ee for the seven-kilometer running, walking, or Nordic walking distance and the three-kilometer Rimi Girls' Race.
As of today, the Women’s Run Secretariat is open on the first floor of the main building on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds where participants collect their race bibs. The Secretariat is open Thursday to Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM and on Saturday morning before the start of the races.
To better plan your time, the organizers recommend that children visit the event's home page http://www.jooks.ee/et/maijooks/lastejooksud to preregister for Limpa Kids Races that kick off on the Song Festival Grounds’ main arena on Saturday at 11 AM.
At 12 noon, runners of the three-kilometer Rimi Girls' Race start the race from Tallinn Song Festival Grounds’ Sea Avenue (Mere allee). At 1 PM, the seven-kilometer main distance of LHV Women’s Run kicks off from the same place for runners, walkers, and Nordic walkers. You can choose between timed and untimed distances.
The running and walking tracks take participants of the Women’s Run to the roads and health trails in the vicinity of the Song Festival Grounds and Maarjamäe subdistrict. Before the start, warm up with MyFitness expert trainers. The racing women are cheered on from the side of the track in designated cheering stations. All finishers receive a gift bag from our sponsors, a beautiful medal with a lily of the valley motif, and a traditional ferry trip offer from Tallink.
During LHV Women’s Run, a Health Fair is open for visitors on Tallinn Song Festival Grounds as customary with numerous vendors selling sports and leisure goods, several health products and services on display, and open registrations for recreational sports events.
The day culminates with an award ceremony and a traditional Women’s Run concert by 2 Quick Start.
Given the large number of participants, it is worth arriving early. It will be wise to leave the car at home and travel by public transport or on foot in the spirit of a healthy day. You can also make the journey by bicycle - bicycle parking is located at the Song Festival Grounds’ Sea Gate (Mere värav). However, traveling by car, kindly follow instructions by traffic controllers and park in relevantly designated areas. Car parking is available free of charge at the Estonian Fairs Center’s large car park.
